What are KSTDC Tours?

KSTDC — Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation — is a Government of Karnataka undertaking that has operated group tours from Bangalore for over 50 years. Every tour departs from the KSTDC Booking Counter at BMTC Bus Stand, Yeshwanthpura, in a Deluxe AC bus with the same seat assigned to each passenger for the entire trip.

A professional multilingual guide accompanies every tour. Accommodation for overnight tours is in government or KSTDC Mayura hotels. Food and entry charges are at the traveller's own cost. Tours run on fixed schedules — they are group tours and cannot be customised.

Karnataka's waterfalls are at their most spectacular between June and October. KSTDC runs guided tours to Hogenakkal and Krishnagiri Dam, the Sigandhur island temple and Jog Falls, the twin cascades of Shivanasamudra with the sand-buried temples of Talakadu, and the Somanathapura–Talakadu–Mudukuthore heritage-and-waterfalls circuit.

KSTDC Ambaari Dasara Mysuru — Illumination Tours
During Mysuru Dasara, KSTDC operates the Ambaari — a vintage open-top double-decker bus — on a one-hour illumination circuit of Mysuru's decorated streets. The palace is lit with 100,000 bulbs. Three departure times: 6:30 PM, 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Open upper deck gives an unobstructed elevated view of the city lights. Operates only during the 10-day Dasara festival in October.
